You have to believe. Otherwise, it will never happen.
A great book should leave you with many experiences, and slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading.

I feel like I’m being interviewed.
This is a really hard question. Yes, the books get seriously complex as the series goes on. Book 8, especially. I do still think Jamie and Claire are the main focus throughout, and I guess I’d start there. Map out their storyline through the rest of the series and only include those side plots necessary to their plot.
For instance, a lot of Roger Brianna plot isn’t necessary to the Jamie Claire plot. The unfortunate hanging storyline in TFC could be left out. I don’t even think there needs to be much Jocasta or Indian stuff. Book 5 could be condensed as well as book 7. But book 6 is very good and not much could be left out. I think books 5,6, and 7 could be morphed into 2 seasons. Book 8 is so complex I think it could be 2 seasons by itself.
I’m amazed at how much you women here remember about each individual book. To me it’s all one big blur. I remember the main stuff, everything else just fades away.
I remember where the sex happens, so that helps me pull back the story. Boat sex, strawberry field sex, window sex, rock sex. 😋😙😗😛 jk
hahaha! This conversation started off really intelligent and then deteriorated just enough for me to relate.

I’m pretty sure you are the only one who feels that way. 😂 Thank you, though.
I hear there’s an analyst position opening up on the other side. Interested? I could put in a good word. They just love me over there. I’m sure I could pull some strings.
Pull strings Eternity? I thought you yanked chains!😘

Don’t click on “keep reading”.
3 episodes into A Discover of Witches and I’m really enjoying this show and are probs going to read the books when I get the chance.
Also, it is a really good thing that the main two actors have great chemistry because if they hadn’t, I probably would be just cringing during their scenes. But instead i’m into them and chanting “kiss kiss kiss” whenever they’re together.
Long story short.
Thanks to @marirable ‘s posts and reblogs, I ended up binge-watching “A Discovery of Witches". And you know what? I WASN’T READY! I wasn’t ready at all! Why I wasn’t warned??? I haven’t thought that I’d be so invested in this show?? I WASN’T READY!!! Now I have to read the books??? Goddammit!!
Note: this focuses on the show. I have read the books, but I’m focused only on what we’ve seen so far so as not to spoil anyone.
In episode two of ADOW, Matthew says to Diana, “Although, as far as I can tell, there are only two emotions that keep the world turning. One is desire, and the other is fear.” I love this line because - and it’s taken me this long to realize - it’s a direction reflection of Matthew. While this is true of most people, I think this line is meant to give us direct insight into Matthew and give us a foundation for his decisions and behaviors moving forward.
